Foundant Technologies Puts Values Into Action

We at Heart of the Valley want to give a shout out to the staff at Foundant Technolgies for their volunteer service yesterday – this fun loving group of people sure do know how to work hard! For the second year in a row, this group has played an integral role in helping the shelter set-up for our annual Woofstock Celebration. When Cory Brester contacted us in hopes of setting up a volunteer event we were thrilled – again, they proved to take initiative, communicate effectively, and establish roles within the group. Great group dynamics made for great accomplishments – within 2 1/2 hours this group of 15 set-up two contest courses (Bozeman’s Fastest Dog lanes and a pizza-shaped Frisbee Zone), pulled enough Russian Thistle to fill a dumpster, and loved on adoptable animals Delilah the dog and Angel the cat. Rather than telling you why we think Foundant chose to trade in their keyboards for work gloves, we asked Cory Brester to answer a few questions below. On behalf of the staff at Foundant, here is what they had to say…

Why does Foundant choose to support HOV? (EW)

Nearly everyone at Foundant is an animal lover. Since the beginning of Foundant, dogs have been a part of our organization. It is rare to go a day without seeing one of our employees dogs in the office. Heart of the Valley aligns with our love for animals and has an important presence in the town we chose to run our business. The HOV staff and event organizers really help us maximize our efforts by being so prepared and organized when we arrive to help. (CB)

Foundant really stands out for all of the community service your company does – why does Foundant emphasize community service/volunteer work for your team? (EW)

We’ve always felt fortunate to have the opportunity to work with individuals and organizations that are focused on improving their communities and our own philanthropic efforts are an important part of the culture we’re building at Foundant.  We’re still a small company with fairly modest means but we’re doing our best to have an impact on our community via our volunteerism, employee matching gifts program and a commitment to donating at least 1% of our annual profits to charitable causes. These events not only help our community but they also help our team work together with each other in a different atmosphere and build relationships with those they may not work as closely with throughout the day. (CB)

Being that it was their second year in a row on this project, the group had perfected their technique!

Real men love cats.

They removed A LOT of Russian Thistle from the shelter's campus - especially in the dog yards.
